Magazine Restriction Policy

Certain U.S. jurisdictions restrict the sale and transfer of firearm magazines and other firearm accessories. Military and law enforcement are typically exempt from these restrictions. WHA Industries does not process sales or shipments prohibited by law. The party receiving these items must immediately return the items for a full refund if the intended sale or transfer is prohibited by law. Any intermediary party distributing or selling WHA products to an end-user is exclusively responsible for verifying that the sale/transfer is not prohibited by law. There are certain exemptions to each of these magazine capacity restrictions that allow active law enforcement, military personnel and other specifically authorized persons to purchase restricted magazines. Please contact us if you are attempting to complete a purchase under a qualified exemption. No state has an allowance for warranty replacement of restricted magazines to be shipped to consumers.

Connecticut Residents: While all magazines over 10 rounds are restricted in Connecticut, 10-round magazine buyers must provide two forms of documentation to complete a sale: (1) proof of a government issued ID that includes a photo and date of birth that verifies the listed purchaser is 18 and older; AND (2) one of the following five valid permits/certificates issued by Connecticut: a) valid permit to carry a pistol or revolver; b) valid permit to sell at retail a pistol or revolver; c) a valid eligibility certificate for a pistol or revolver; d) a valid long gun eligibility certificate; OR a valid ammunition certificate. Please contact us to validate your documents and place an order. For more information about Connecticut’s state restrictions on ammunition magazines, the relevant legal provision can be reviewed here.

California Residents: The case Duncan v. Becerra, (Case No.: 3-17-CV-1017-BEN-JLB) focuses on the constitutionality of CA’s magazine ban. On November 30, 2021, the full (en banc) 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals reversed an earlier ruling from the court that overturned CA’s magazine ban. Plaintiffs have made statements that the November 30th ruling will be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Oregon Residents: Due to the ongoing legal filings and unknown outcomes, Oregon customers must be aware that even if they have placed an order, WHA could possibly suspend or cancel the order if it has not been shipped, for compliance with Ballot Measure 114.

Pittsburg Residents: On April 2, 2019, the city of Pittsburgh, PA passed a city ordinance banning the use of magazines in public spaces. The ordinance includes a prohibition on sales of magazines over 10 rounds but due to state preemption laws, this section will not go into effect until such a ban is made permissible by the State Supreme Court or General Assembly.
